Abstract

The Relative Value Committee (RVC) of the Korean Medical Association is the discussion body in the medical field of relative value, formed based on the medical expertises provided by each specialized academic society. Since the RVC provides the rationality of the Fee-For-Service payment system for each health insurance activity, as long as this system is in operation, the government and the RVC should cope together to create a balanced score among medical practices. In response to the demands of primary care, the Korean Medical Association (KMA) added a number of members in the field of primary care to the RVC in 2020. Although the expanded RVC has not been operated in earnest due to the nationwide spread of COVID-19, we expect that there will be an opportunity to demonstrate the role of expanded and newly structured RVC.
